Rolex Submariner 116610LV In Green Watches

The Rolex Submariner Date Reference 116610LV, aka “The Hulk”, is the Rolex Submariner we all know and love (I guess there are always naysayers), but with a green ceramic bezel and green dial. It has a higher price tag than the more traditional black ceramic bezel and matching black dial of the “classic” Rolex Submariner 116610LN reference model, and also exists in the pantheon of interesting green Rolex watches that are often released as anniversary editions of the brand.
Like many of the timepieces I ended up really liking, the green dial Rolex Submariner wasn’t a timepiece I was immediately enamored with when it debuted in 2010. I almost didn’t like it. -especially since I’m pretty sure green is my favorite color-but I was a little ambivalent about it. I believe my thinking at the time was that the black dial Submariner was so good that it would be difficult to convince consumers to buy green instead of black, or to ask them to buy the pony as well as the watch. I would also like to point out that although the green “Hulk” Rolex Submariner 116610LV is not a limited edition, it is not a replica rolex watches watch that Rolex will ever make. Its popularity has kept it in production, but Rolex can quietly stop production at any time without notice or any reason.

For years I have admired the Green Submariner seeing it in the presence of other watch enthusiasts, celebrities and even hearing someone criticize it. The person I admired even called it “uncool”. Note that this person was wearing a Rolex (a vintage Daytona on a Bunde-type cuff), so they weren’t hostile to the brand. I’m sure their reasoning was that, to them, wearing a green Rolex Submariner 116610LV Cheap Fashion Classic Fake Watches looked like someone was “working hard”. Working too hard? Ok, maybe stand out or be different.
I agree that it is not cool if that is the reason you are buying this watch or any other watch for that matter. However, I do disagree that the green Rolex Submariner 116610LV is not a cool watch, it depends on how you wear it. First of all, green is obviously Rolex’s main color, as it is the main trademark hue of Rolex. However, I like that Rolex likes to play various shades of green. This means that various Rolex green watches, from Daytona watches to Presidential watches, come in various shades and finishes of green. Personally, I would love to own as many different green dial Rolex watches as I can if I had the money.

Another reason to add the green Rolex Submariner 116610LV Date to my collection is that I already own another similar black Rolex Submariner modern watch. However, this is not a Submariner Date, but a Rolex Submariner “No Date” reference number 114060, with its beautifully symmetrical dial. Therefore, I don’t have a Rolex Submariner Date in my favorites, so adding a green Rolex Submariner 116610LV won’t feel redundant!
